The Products submodule in the Purchase module allows users to manage product information, add new products, and perform actions such as view, edit, delete, or duplicate product records. This guide provides an overview of the features and functionalities of the Products submodule.
In the navigation panel, click Purchase module – Products.
Product Listing
The main screen displays a list of all products in a tabular format with the following columns:
Product Image: Image of the product (if uploaded).
Products: Name of the product or service.
Price (inclusive of all taxes): Selling price of the product.
Stock on Hand: Available stock quantity (if inventory tracking is enabled).
Unit Type: Measurement unit for the product (e.g., pieces, kilograms).
Client Can Purchase: Indicates whether clients are allowed to purchase the product.
Status: Active or inactive status of the product.
Action: Options to view, edit, delete, or duplicate the product.
2. Add New Product
To add a new product:
Click the + Add Product button.
Fill in the following fields in the form:
Type: Select whether the product is a "Good" or "Service."
Name: Enter the name of the product (required).
SKU: Add a unique SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) for the product.
Unit Type: Select the unit of measurement for the product.
Product Category: Assign the product to a category.
Product Sub Category: Assign the product to a subcategory (if applicable).
Selling Price: Set the selling price of the product.
Cost Price: Set the cost price of the product.
Tax: Select applicable tax rates.
Track Inventory for this Item: Enable this option if inventory tracking is needed.
Client Can Purchase: Check this option if clients are allowed to purchase the product.
Downloadable: Check this option if the product is downloadable.
Description: Add a description for the product.
Click Save to add the product to the listing.
Filter and Search
Use the search bar to find specific products by name, SKU, or other attributes.
Apply filters to narrow down products based on:
Product Category
Product Sub Category
Unit Type
Product Type
4. Status Management
Products can have either an Active or Inactive status:
Active: Product is available for use.
Inactive: Product is not available for use.
Update the status using the dropdown in the Status column.
5. Action Items
View: Displays detailed information about the product, including all fields entered during product creation.
Edit: Allows updating the product’s details. Click the Edit option from the action menu, make necessary changes, and save.
Delete: Removes the product record from the system. Confirm the action when prompted.
Duplicate: Creates a copy of the product with the same details, allowing for quick entry of similar products.
How to Use the Products Submodule
Adding a Product
Navigate to the Products submodule under Purchase.
Click + Add Product.
Fill out the form with the product’s details and click Save.
Searching for a Product
Use the search bar at the top of the product list to type in a keyword (e.g., product name or SKU).
View the filtered results.
Using Filters
Apply filters such as Product Category or Unit Type to narrow down the displayed products.
Managing Product Status
Locate the desired product in the listing.
Update the status using the dropdown in the Status column.
Using Action Items
Locate the desired product in the listing.
Click the Action Menu (three dots) and select:
View: To see detailed product information.
Edit: To update the product’s information.
Delete: To remove the product from the system.
Duplicate: To create a copy of the product.
Best Practices
Use descriptive names and SKUs for easy identification of products.
Regularly review and update product statuses to keep the listing accurate.
Use the duplicate function to save time when adding similar products.

Q1: What happens if I delete a product?
Deleting a product removes its record permanently. Ensure you no longer need the product’s details before deleting.

No, once a product is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
